Dirt Gather VI

A loosely organized campout at Pearrygin Lake State Park for riders of Dual Sport and Adventure Touring bikes, consisting of a bunch of un-paved roads, some camping, good food, heavy drinking, the odd cigar and the swapping of many lies. Legend blames the origin on Steve Powers, but many have stepped up to organize over the years. This time I think it was Gary Barnett and Paul Guilfoil, but really, who cares as long as the job got done, eh?

Ideally, show up Thursday afternoon in time for Thursday night dinner. We ride Friday and Saturday (stopping for lunch somewhere), with dinners TBD — last year Gary cooked wonderful stuff in camp a couple nights, and one night we went into Winthrop for dinner. We all chip in to cover the cost of the campsite, and the food. Bring your own drinks and smokes...

There is a special mailing list for the event, called dirtgather@micapeak.com. You'll have to subscribe yourself via the usual methods — try starting at http://micapeak.com/lists/. Feel free to subscribe or not, independent of whether or not you plan to attend this one. Warning: If you don't subscribe, you may well miss important organizational messages. The list will be for discussions pertaining to future (and past) events, and traditionally is very, very low volume. Purely social chatter unrelated to the events will be discouraged.

In the beginning, there were the Words, and the Words described how to get to the group campsite we use. Now, well into the 21st Century, we do it the easy way, and simply let you create your own directions via Google Maps. Pick push-pin "A".
